Do you gravel vac during every water change?

What is gravel vac and how do you do it?

I like the way you think lol.

Really tho...I try to vac but never see anything so I dont bother with the sand. I dont think I will ever use gravel if I can help it.

I gravel vac weekly. But don't change the water until it hits 40ppm. Which at the most is every 2 weeks. On the smaller tanks that is very low stocked I change every 2 weeks otherwise it would takes weeks if not months for it to hit 40ppm.

With every weekly water change my sand/gravel gets vac'd out with the python. And once a day I take a small syphon and a 5gal bucket and get out all visable waste. ocd

I gravel vac the first bucket of water, and then sometimes a bit on the 2nd

then i get lazy

I gravel vac weekly. Daily on my Midas tank. I stoop, scoop remove that poop.

I never gravel vac, I have sand and it seemd to compact enough not to get dirty. I have under gravel jets to move the "dirt" to the filter intakes.

Im slowly removing the gravel from my bichir tank so it will be bare bottom. I believe with the filtration on that tank I wont have to vacuum any more but ill see.

You wont have to...with the right flow a BB tank and a sand tank the poop tends to move around more and get sucked up.
