Sup folks? I am doing a bit of research and would like to know one thing. Do you keep hybrids. I'm posting it in this forum because I wanted people who enjoy keeping pure as well as hybrid cichlids. If you can give me a hand with this I would greatly appreciate it.

This include petsmart fish?

I have never kept hybrids before, but have a few oops babies that I've decided to keep, so I voted yes. Personally, the inter-genus hybrids I would not keep (ex. con x hrp...blue acara x gt). They are so close, you could confuse them for what they are. But hybrids that are obvious, and won't cause confusion in that matter, I have no issues with. But that's just me.

I personally don't care for a lot of the purposely bred hybrids that seems to be the craze. Most of them are ugly as sin and ridiculously priced. On the other hand, I have seen a few that were nice and since I don't sell or show, if an accident happened I wouldn't go out of my way to destroy them.

I used to keep parrots and flowerhorns but have no intention to keep them again.

I am mainly into pure cichlids.I know and realize the problem Flowerhorns and cross breeds can cause for the purists when tracking down certain species but I still don't really have anything against them.I keep a few myself.I don't breed them to sell however. While most are mutts, all would have to agree there are some stunning mixes out there and like them or not, they're here to stay.

I have a RD/Midas hybrid.

Yes.

I have only two fish at the moment, the FH that's in my avatar and my jag.
