Do you keep hybrids.

I don't have any hybrids at this time, but I have owned flowerhorns in the past and I do hope to have a Managuense/Dovii mix some day!!! Or even a RTM/Dovii mix. As long as the fish looks good then I'm all for it.

Those fish are sooo easy to confuse with wild-type cichlids... kind of like fancy bettas are easy to mix up with wild ones....

lol, yes I do and I love them very much.I have breed 15 or more difjerent ciclids in my 30+ yrs in this hobbie but now and at least for now.I breed flowerhorns lol.They are so beautifull I dont see how they can be hated by anyone.That is where I stand on this subject.But let me lieve you with a few picture of a few of my HYBRIDS. The first is one of my pairs the second is male and the last 2 are female

I got hybrids
i have a breeding pair which are both different species; male nicarguan and female conjica(conxsajica)
I did also have a flowerhorn but my GT killed him
I saw a freddyxRTM at my lfs just looks like a red freddy
I want him but not got any space ARRRRRRRRRRR

I think I have one in my tank... it is now my mystery fish.

I think it is a cross between a jewel and something else. Who that someone else is, thats the mystery.

Went way for a holiday and he/she/it was there when I got back...

Of course I keep hybrids. I get a lot of crap from LFS elitists--but I don't care. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I love hybrids.... imo why not try and create a more beautiful fish. No one seems to have a problem with people doing it with dogs

There are so many beautiful, interesting, wild/natural fish, that i see no point in keeping hybrids. There are some beautiful hybrid fish, but i think nature wins. I have nothing against hybrids, i just think that natural fish are equally, if not more, interesting and rewarding to keep. And with 22,000 species of fish, or something like that, i do not see myself running out of options. (yes, some are not suitable for aquariums, but there are thousands that are)
