Honestly I hate all cichlid hyrbids. There are some flowerhorns that are absolutly beautiful that I would own, like a thai silk,..But other then that, I hate them. There is an exception tho, I like RTC hybrids. x tsn, x niger, x paroon, are awesome.
The redtail x tigershovelnose is the only hybrid that I like and I've been down that road already and probably wont be getting another.I really dont get the whole flowerhorn addiction with their high pricess and the parrots are just butt ugly.
Personally I am not a big fan of hybrids. I have a strong dislike for parrots. I think that a single cross can be ok eg. TSN x RTC however when there are a number of fish crossed over a number of generations I believe it just causes to many problems. An example of this in Australia is that Green Terrors (Rivalatus) and Blue Acara's have been so crossed in Australia that it is close to impossible to find pures of either in pet stores.
I picked "They're okay." I really like Catfish hybrids and non-dyed Blood Parrots. Flowerhorns are cool too, but they just don't stand out ffor me. I'd rather have a pure Trimac.

I bought a flowerhorn a few years back,I was'nt even aware that the fish was a hybrid,, I thought it was a new discovery to the hobby.I did some reading on them and then I was like,whats the point in doing this with two different fish.I think it cost me under ten bucks so I guess it must have been one of those low quality fish you mentioned.I agree with you on the whole kok thing,they bring to mind a boil that is about to explode,what a mess that would be.Bottomfeeder;3714008; said:
Sorry for bring up such an old thread but, a lot of pure fish have monster koks, And i like FHs from what ive seen. I like a good nuchal hump but I dont like those ones whos kok is like half of the fishes size, It just looks like a large tumor to me.
