do you name your fish

i was wondering if you name your fish.
i never have and my friends and girlfriend thinks thats crazy considering how much time i spend on fish keeping

what are your thoughts?

When I get to know their personality, they end up with a name, but with over 30 lungfish, only a few have names thus far... My Cichlids often end up with names, but the others - cyprinids, look-alikes (eels, etc) remain unnamed. Example: My group of 7 jellybean convicts are all the same. LOL

My red devil is named DP, for Donkey Puncher,
my paroon sharks names are Crunchbite, and B*t*hpants McCrabby
My pleco's name is Ming Li

none of the rest of them have been named though

I Technically name them. Like the Oscar I call "Piggy", the Polleni I call "Polly" , my Delhezi is "Trogdor" etc ... but generally I just call them by what they are when talking about them...

to many for me to name.. i just call them " red(red devil) JD(jack dempsey) D(dovii) etc...

my gf seems to add ie to the end of any name so clown knife becomes clownie and tinfoil become tinny but it never really caught on with me

I name them unless they are completely identical schooling fish.

Most will end up with names, except for schools/shoals where differentiating can be problematic.
Oscar - Allanon
Sev - Padashar
Pleco- Smaug
and others..........Bugsby, Gimli.... A turtle named Moorla.

i use to when i only owned 1 tank and few fishes but now i can't think of enough good names for all of them... but i do still like them all the same.
