The only fish of mine with names are my Oscars. One is named "Rosey" and the other one is "Bob" We were just naming names one night and they just stuck.
 
Would you call naming

Gourami = Gourami man
Peacock bass = bass man
Peacock bass = bass man (the other one gets confused when I call him for dinner)

Gibbis = Gibby man or pleco dude x2

Oscars = O (there is black O and white O)
 
My fish are named after what they are...I know, real original.
Actually, it goes for all my pets.
Mr. Quaker
Ms. Nanday
Mr and Mrs. Red Eared Slider
Mr. Leichardti
Mrs. Dovii
Mr. Red Devil
Mr. Midas.
YAY!
the list goes on and on.
 
Hey everyone.. i'm a noobie to your site.. saw this thread and thought it would be a nice spot to poke my nose into conversation and get to know you all ;)

I named all of my fish... I also have 4 kids, so i tried to come up with names that were light & fun...

I named my Oscars after other famous Oscars, so I have:

Oscar de la Renta, Oscar dela Hoya, Oscar Madison, Oscar Meyer and Oscar Wilde

My clown loaches are Clarabelle & Bozo... my Pleco is Norm... I also have some Blood Parrots, that my kids call "fruit loop" fish because of their colors, and we named those after the fruits that their colors represent... Blueberry, Grape, Orange, Strawberry & Cherry...

It's corny, but its fun.. :)
 
My S.A. arowana is named Sr. El fcuken Camino, GuKan for short
My Oscars are Ms. Piggy and Tigger
Fatty and Shorty are my reg Plecos.
Latte~ is my chocolate albino pleco.
Susan B Anthony and Liberty are my silver dollars...
They all give me great pleasure, even when the O's challenge me to get food to the other fish!...:screwy:

me, i name some of my fish.
 
I dont name them but the girls do its actually makes it easier to talk to some of my local fish geek friends instead of explaining what fish it is or saying a full latin name I can say hey have you seen Alfred lately???? instead of saying hey have you seen my big silver arowana lately you know that big long fish in my pond???
 
A Bristlenose pleco called Sock (named by my fiancee - short for sockpuppet...cause that's what he looks like!), a Syno Eupterus called Skint Nose, cause he keeps banging into things...a Distichodus Sexfaciatus called Rothiemurchus, after a town in the Scottish Highlands...and Harry, the Corydoras HaroldSchultzi....
