I feel a little ridiculous admitting this but I name all of my pets, no matter how many of them I have or how tiny, from everything from fish to finches to chickens. Am I alone in this?

Nope not in the slightest....
I name all my pets... and this is embarrassing some inanimate objects (my mobile phone is called Tony).

Nope not alone at all.
"Most" of our fish are named, the Mrs comes up with them all, makes things easier as well when talking about the fish... "The Oscars got a scratch" "oh which one?" is much better as "Harrys got a scratch" ...
Not all of our fish have names though, the little tetras in the community tank for example arent named, but things like Oscars, fire eel, juruense, polys etc are all named

i name all my fish and its a big list.sometimes it takes a while for me to come up with a cool name but eventually they all are named.naming 16 poly endlis took some time.I think naming fish is a female thing??

Some of my fish get named, not many though.
The TSN is 'Fluffy', Silver Aro is 'cuddles', The larger of the 2 Pacu is 'Dopey' and the Smaller one is 'Grumpy', Marble Pim is called 'Whiskers' and the rtcxtsn is 'Big Fella'. All the Cichlids are simply called by what type of cichlid they are apart from the Dovii which i call 'Wolfy'. Same with the Plecos.
No attempt at naming at all for groups of schooling fish.
