Do you name your monsters?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My husband calls our Silver Dollars "money," "money," "money"... and so on... there are nine. I name all of my fish, except, like the others said, schooling tetras or hatchets. To them, I just say, "Hey, little guy!" Makes things easier.

See, I cannot just "name" a fish... the name has to just suddenly come to me.

Some go for months without being named. But it always happens in the end.

Weird, thats exactly how the wife does it as well, she will just come out with it anytime from right away to months later.

Like we named all our cats when we got them, but years later theyre all different as their names developed into fitting ones.

Oldest cat is Midge Pidge, but she has always been known from maybe 6 months old as poosh.

Same with the other two, must be a woman thing heh. :grinno:

Naming your fish is bad luck. Fish die if you name them....

I broke down and named one of my fish and it died soon after. Dont do it.

Not real original but my fish are named by their type.

Endi, Sen, Del, Ornate, Lap, Weeks, Jack, etc........

My Angelfish are: Bloodshot, Torchpedo, Enterprise, Princess Nibbles and Zebra.
My Oscar is named Levi because his pattern is all freckled like those terrible yellow and black jeans from the eighties.
I didn't name the Silver Molly or his two female guppies yet, but the biggest female guppy is always called Big Mama, in any guppy group I have.
The frog is Atrea. Long story on that one.

haha i didn't name feeders for my TSN when i had him lol

But all my fish have names, and wierd names at that :screwy:
Breakfast, Dinner, (getting a new lunch), Woompkins, Apatizer(sp?), Zoidberg the Pleco, Mr. Buzz, Mr. Whiskers, Shmeep, Shmoop, Mr. Pleco. haha
My TSN was named Mr. Shnoz :grinno:

 Sounds like Mr. Krabs from Spongebob

I only named my BGK, Pim. Mysteriosus catfish, and Severum.

The BGK is Leviathan (I call him Levi - pronounced lev-ee)

the catfish is Brutus

and the severum is Chick (although I think it may turn out to be a male lol)

I was planning on naming my bichirs after my favorite Japanese wrestlers, but never really got to it.

Out of the four I have, I was going to name them Misawa, Kawada, Akiyama, and Kobashi... Now, with the recent passing of one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, Mitsuharu Misawa (RIP), using the name just doesn't feel right quite yet. I still might use it, but I'm still a bit shaken up by the man's death to be honest.
