Hey guys. I have two tanks that I need to get moving on stocking. I'm sick of Petsmart fish. It's hard for me to get the chance to get out to the other LFS's. I was wondering if anyone orders their fish online from sites such as liveaquaria.com. I like their selections better, they have fish you really don't see too often or at all in the LFS. I would like some feedback on where to order, if it's a good idea, and with the shipping prices should I order a lot of fish at once? I have 15 tanks altogether, only one of them isn't cycled (empty 55 acrylic). I've added stress zyme to it twice, a week ago and today. I also have an established 75 gallon with nothing in it right now which I will be moving to my fishroom this week. Suggestions please, websites, tips on acclimating them etc.

A lot of people on here buy from the vendors on here (there is a vendor list in the Forum Marketplace somewhere). People have had great success with the vendors on here, I know that much, and live arrival is always guaranteed.

I personally have not ordered from online. But, I also have 2 pretty awesome mom/pop lfs by me. Not sure how far Aston, Pa is from Clifton, NJ.....but, Absolutely Fish (AbsolutelyFish.com) is where I get most of my fish.

I do sometimes. Depends on what i want but usually for the most part i get them here. I've ordered fish a couple of times and was happy.

i never trustes online but around me its not too hard to get most fish. But there are some you cant get that would be worth and online order but for me its a money risk

It's a risk yes, but why not?
Just make sure you do your homework, & you should be fine.
I've done it twice, & am in the middle of one now. (fish should arrive tomorrow)
I have had success with bluegrass aquatics, & that pet place.
The order I'm working on now is from tangled up in cichlids.
I say go for it, & order as many as you can at once.
The shipping cost is brutal. lol

I have ordered fro TUIC a couple times no problems at all. All fish arrive in good shape and acclimate very well. If your looking for good quality WC and f1 fish that are a little harder to find that is a good starting point. Many people have nothing but good things to say about cichlid connection and Ira in the vendor section as well.

I would only do it if it was somthing that my LFS could not get for me ( never happens).

i just made a similar post in the cichlid section. i had the same concerns and was just looking for something other than petsmart selections. i'm thinking if online shipping would be ok this time of year because of the cold weather. also looking for good recomendations.

I have ordered many time from online vendors. I have been happy every time. I can recommend tfdfish.com. I have also used aquabid.com. Shipping is inexpensive.
