Babies, it's just more fun, and I get more of a feeling of accomplishment, and pride.

im opposite dont have time to deal with growing... instant monsters pretty much give me same feeling

Babies for sure. Always like to buy 4 - 6 of each type I want with the intentions of taking the ones I don't want back to the pet shop and keeping the best looking ones. My only problem is I can't seem to take any back. Thats why I now have 12 Severum's, 6 Jack Dempsey's, 5 Flower Horns, 12 Key Holes, etc etc etc

I've had to buy mature fish lately. All my tanks are mature, so the little guys just don't cut it. I'm growing out about 200g of fish to put in the 300. just seems like a losing battle.

I like to grow them from juveniles but I have never had any tank larger than a 90. If I had a 300 gallon I may not want to wait for new monsters.

i do both, you can get better results on fishes, colors and overall looks if you raised it yourself from fry sized fish and gave them the best quality of life, and it does pay offf in the end. it is also enjoyable to take pics throughout the fishes lives and see the growth through those pics.

it's fun to have already monster fish aswell.

my fish are all babies cause i havent got a big enough tank for the full grown versions of my fish, lol. but given the choice i think full grown, all my fish seem to grow awkwardly slow. :(
