thanks to all who recycle, it really is worth it, did you know plastic is a petroleum product, so by recycling plastic you are reducing oil dependancy. It takes natural gas to make virgin plastic also. heres a few uses, recycled pop bottles are used to make carpet, mohawk is one of the largest carpet manufacturers in the world, they use many trucks of recycled plastics a dayUp to 40 pop bottles per yard can be recycled into carpet. Plastic baggies from walmart are mixed with shredded pallets to make plastic decking "trex" is the big one, they use 60 million pounds of plastic a year, most of it is those little baggies, crazy huh. Structural plastic lumber companies use recycled milk jugs to produce a solid HDPE(high density polyethelene) board that has a 50 year warranty on it. Many of the big woods are epi and purple heart, they are brazian and vietnamese hard woods that are victimizing the contries they come from. Lumber companies come into these remote areas and completely whipe them out, leaving nothing but stumps and garbage, stressing out already stressed ecosystems. Ive always been a tree hugger, but once I got into it for a living i see how well recycling works, and the devistation that deforesting leaves, i will always recycle and hope you will too
