We have an old house so the most I have on one floor is about 80 gallons total, the rest is in the basement.
Same here.

Concrete basement, no thoughts. :)

Thanks guys for all the answers. I have a 100gal and If I was to get a bigger tank I would have to reinforce the floors.

For you that just cross your fingers what size tank do you have?

Mine are all on ground level. Concrete and carpet are not close to tested by the 19 tanks that I am running.

Should be another poll option, which is far better and accurate that cross your fingers. There should be an option to chose to :set your tanks up on a floor that you are absolutely certain nothing short of a act of providence could could send them through it. OK maybe a nuclear blast for Pete's sake!

I did not really cross my finger at all, I set them up where the floor has less that 0% chance of failing!

I'm serious, you do not have an option on this poll to express ANY SORT OF COMPETENCE of anyone who did not take direct action to their existing floor.

This pool is so bad that with the prohibitive majority of the MFK'rs voting like myself look like ***hats who cross our fingers and hope for luck.

Do any of you other majority of you posters who also voted "crossed your fingers" not entirely comfortable that this was your action taken when setting your tank(s) up on that floor. They call the freakin' thing a "FOUNDATION" for god's sake! Houses (freakin' way heavier than freakin' fish tanks) are supported by these "FOUNDATIONS". Anyone who feels the need to cross their fingers wile setting up fish tank(s) on a homes foundation has severe IQ challenges.

Simple formula: Foundation > House > fish tank = foundation >> fish tank

No crossed finger, math!

I'm woundering at the moment now would a 1960's house's cement walk in garge basement floor be able to hold up the weight of a 2000 gallon cinder block fish tank or would i be better off building a fishroom with it's own suport system?

My 180 is on my main floor. Floor joists run directly underneath it for the whole length of the tank. There are 2 supports under the joists as well. i didnt cross my fingers but i do hope for tghe best always. Its been 8 months and the take is still level.

I think the biggest tank I could trust upstairs in my house would be a ten gallon in that I don't really feel cozy with the idea of my 75 gallon upstairs.

Carpet on top of the cement foundation.

I have my 150 on the first floor that has a basement under it. I did my research before buying it just like I do with everything I buy. I used a 4x8 and 2 basement jacks under the joist there setting on.
