well there have been reports of Delhezi in the florida river system for 20 years and nothing happened and Polypterus cannot live in cooler cilmates then if this is the case then hobby will loose a lot of fish and hobbist. you band my favorite fish I am out.

Wow I already can't own channa, bowfin, and now bichir!? But wouldn't alot more fish be affected than just bichir so even if you can still keep bichirs it would still make our hobby limited.

:iagree: the only places they could probably survive is in Florida, California , Texas
Doesn't matter they will still be banned across the entire country regardless of where they can actually become invasive and no can even say for sure that polys can adapt to U.S waters all thats gonna happen is people will see there large predatory tropical fish and assume they could breed with no problems in southern states like florida and with out a econd thought put them on the Un approved list

so YES polys WILL be banned if the bills takes affect

I find it hard to believe that bichirs could compete with native species.
