Hello guys, i need your recommendation please.

I have a 125g tank with sump filter, everything looks good now, my cichlids are breeding and everything, but im affraid i have death spots, im running a HYGGER 2120 GHP return pump, but i do have death spots.

Do you think i need a canister filter, don´t really like them cuz they always have leaking issues, but, ¿What can i do to avoid those death spots in my tank?, please a little help from the pros will be the best.

Thank you and sorry for bothering so much with my crazy questions. ??

I also use small circulation pumps, no worries about leaking, or any of the other pitfalls of cans.
They can be aimed to specific areas that are dead spots, and placed anywhere using the provided outside tank magnet high or low in the tank.
I sometimes place two to a tank, one on each end.

There are many brands to choose from.

powerheads or wave makers will remove the dead spots

how many return lines do you have? and do you split that?

Only one return line pointing to the surface of the tank, but im not really a pro to tell you where to point the wavemakers i did look for those sicce wavemakers but what model do i need for my tank, plus i have sand i dont want the sand to be all over the tank cuz of the powerhead or wavemaker. I guess ill show you a video of my tank as soon as i get home. And you can tell me where to place the wavemakers or powerheads.

Point the return line downwards to a corner on the far end (or where you think you have a dead spot) and see if the sand comes up and see if you can feel it on the far end. If you can feel it, and the sand doesn't get blown around, then you can use return line to get rid of the dead spot and the wavemaker/circulation pump (SICCE Voyager 2 or equivalent) to create surface agitation.

One of the reasons I chose the Sicce, at 800 GPH is because I have sand, and plants and wanted a narrow, non-overwhelming stream to run about half way across my 6 ft tank (to the spot where it was most dead).
This is why I posted the "pump angle" video, so you would be able to decide for yourself, what might be best for your tank.
The graphics show, how each pump disperses, suggest strength of flow, and other factors to help you decide.
