do you trust hob overflows

so that rules out putting a couple diy overflows in tanks on the second floor of an apartment. the people below might not like the shower

maybe this is a bad idea but would it be an effecitve idea to pump water out of the tank with a powerhead or something to a sump placed above the tanks and have the sump overflow run to the tank. just reverse the normal process.

Actually I've seen this done looked pretty efficient; just looks kinda ghetto having a wet/dry filter hanging above your tank. I've seen some real creative set ups like that; some done with a 5 gal arrowhead container that dripped right into the tank; the idea seemed pretty sound.

You can always drill the back of the tank out.
