ok cool i had a timer with my old light but just bought a new light that has the ground prong on the plug and was wondering some opinions, im bein cheap and dont wana buy a timer lol
You have two options, one is an adapter from 3 prongs to two. Not a real good option, but it does work.
The other option is an "out door" timer. I have 3 or 4 of them from Home Depot. They are about $10 and have 3 prongs. The indoor ones are only $7, but only have 2 prongs.
Does anyone know of a plug-in type timer that's really small? I have an outlet box on the inside of my canopy, and I don't have much clearance, and most of the timers I've seen are too big for me to use.
My wife uses timers on most all of her tanks, for her fishes well being and my favorite reason - energy savings. We are gearing up to rack out her room and I plan on giving her separate circuits for filters, pumps and lights. The lights will be run off of one timer on the entire circuit so it is only one thing to program and worry about. World of difference on the energy bill! Can you tell I'm cheap?
