pretty crazy, actually a few years ago there were like 5 piranha caught in a lake near my house in NY...I didnt think they would be able to survive the winters
No way a piranha would survive if the temps dropped into 50's. P-bass have hard time surviving Fla winters n they're more tolerant to colder water tha piranha. Warm spring fed, or hydro, or factory heated lake maybe if it found the warmth before it froze.piranha aren't snakeheads.
they have been caught several times here in Illinois as well. all throughout the central part. some pacu as well. but all was confirmed or denied as far as species go. sadly most of them were piranha.
