So over the years their has been a few threads about how large Festae can get. With discussions about one reaching 20” or more.
I believe it’s entirely possible.
By posting this I’m in no way claiming this fish was the biggest or anything.
I encourage anyone with very large Festae to post them here.
I would love to see this thread become something on going with some good discussion attached.
So with that said here he is.
He measured out at 15 inches long
5.5 inches top to bottom
And weight was 4 Lbs

Did you account for the weight of the towel, seems a bit heavy, I know Andy Woods 14 inch Rd is 2.09lbs and his 18 inch umbee is only just over 4lbs.
Still a big feasta, good job on him.

I placed the towel on and zero the scales out then placed the fish on. I did this twice before I took the picture. Unless the scales are wrong?

Unless I'm missing something, the first inch on your tape is air, which makes the TL 14", not 15.
It’s hard to hold the tape and make a photo the angle is funny. I do admit if the tape was held straight across the fish it came in at a little under 15. Like 14 3/4. But if the tape was laid along his body it was 15. I have a short video clip of the measure but I can’t upload it for some reason.
I may have to post to YouTube and link it.

But I do have another pic of the fish on top of the tape. In this photo the fish is placed about a 1/4 in over the start of the tape and measured 14.5 so it’s total length shows at 14 3/4.

I want to assure anyone reading this there has been no attempt to deceive. The fish most definitely is at least 14 3/4 inches. As far as the scales go they may not have been accurate. But I didn’t think of that at the time.
Holding him it was believable that he weighed 4lbs, but he may not have.

Yeah, no doubt that he is one big bubba. Thanks for the extra pics, I wasn't calling you out or anything, the initial photo just looked odd in how the tape was showing.

i was fishing for tog in delaware one day and the game wardens contested one of my catches, a 15 1/2" tog by my reckoning (legal size was 15"). i thought it was an obvious win for me, but the warden took out his tape, closed the fishes mouth, and got a measurement of 14 7/8". he didnt fine me but i did have to throw the fish back.
