Dodged a bullet

That earthquake was close to my house. Some of the local hobbyists lost tanks but mine all survived. I had several gallons on the floor but no leaks as far as I can tell. My gfci outlet paid for itself when my power was restored four hours after the quake knocked it out.

Indeed and I did not hear of any quakes out that way...but then,the snow coverage was pretty much all the local news was interested in reporting on.Glad all is well with you anyhow.

Earthquakes are fairly common here in Alaska but this one was pretty big, 7.1 is the latest estimate. It lasted quite a while too.

7.1 is huge. For comparison the 1989 San Francisco quake was a 6.9.

I never thought of the damage a quake can do to a tank and much quicker than a power outage.
