I have a 50gl sump with about 30-40glns of bioballs and ceramic rings.

My Question is will it make a diff if I put all my media in a 100gl rather than a 50gl?

100% of the media I have, and not adding more. Will it make my sump better or it wont make a diff cause the media amount is the same?

Thanks

Yes a bigger tank does. You can add more fish, and there is more room for your fish. As well as more oxygen.

i think he is asking about his sump not the tank for his fishes.
I thnk the bigger the better.

It would give you more volume in the sump to hanle an emergency like a power out.How big is the tank?
If its partially filled it adds volume to your system, greater volume= more stable parameters.

I agree with Gomez. Making the sump larger will add nothing to your biological filtration. It will however, allow you to have a larger volume of water in the whole system, thus adding a little more consistency to the water parameters.

Thanks, thats what I thought. I do have a backup incase of a power outage for my sump.

My tank is a 300gl with a 50gl sump.
Thank you :D

If you have the stuff, why not?

Seeing as the tank is 300g, I'd step it up for sure.

Thats what im trying to weigh out.
Dont plan on adding more media since I already have a load. Then Id have to use one more cup of prime and that will cost more in the long run......
It could go towards feeders and food......

If it does nothing for me then Ill leave it like that:D
Thanks

If money is a concern, it is probably not worth it then. Why got to a 100G when you could set that tank up and use it. lol

Money is not a concern but I just dont want to throw money away now.
If it looks nice but I dont need it (or no real benefit) then its not worth it to me:D. JMO
