Does a bigger tank make a diff??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
set it up sump style with a sectioned off area for a refugium. You could always use this space to put an injured fish, pregnant fish, or just stuff it full of some water weed (anachris, hygro, etc) to help out a little with your water.

You won't have to buy any more stuff, and it will give you some space for emergencies.

Ahh, very true (except for an injured fish. I got a hospital tank:D).
HHhmmmm, now Im double thinking.

Another negative I had was having to re-do all my plumbing cause the height of the tank is 24" and the stand space (inside height) is about 34".
The plumbing I have now is maybe 18" when the 90* elbow goes towards the back of the tank to the top.

Gatta think more about this one now:irked:......:D

Personally, I think we are obligated to do everything REASONABLY possible to help our fish. Be it a little more money, work, time, etc. I would go for it. If for no other reason it will sound better when bragging on the boards :)

Its none of the above that I dont have or am not willing to do. If it does not have any positive (besides more water in a sump) to my sump, then it is a waiste of time for me. If it benefits my fish and set up then im all for it.

lol, that was just a lead in for my (apparently bad) joke.

My official vote would be go for it, simply because it would provide more stability to the water column and some emergency room if you even needed to use it.
