I have a juvi silver aro growing on in a 4ft tank, its about 3.5 inch, I put two spotted gars which I ordered online and after waiting 2 months for delivery were about 4 inch instead of the advertised 8inch so they went in the grow on tank as well with the aro, now after a day they had I assume bitten the tail off the aro clean off.

I have moved the gar to another tank on their own to try and feed well and grow them on. The aro is healing well in the top and bottom fin but the seprate tail fin has shown no signs as yet of growing back

Hes eating and swimming well just looks funnny without a tail

cheers Simon

Post a picture? If it hasn't grown back now, it may grow back a bit as time passes, but not fully.

whata bummer it doesnt half change the profile of the fish that being said he looks happy enough

well thankfully its tail is growing back, he was never disadvantaged swimming wise but the little bit at the back is growing back which is cool as he looked a bit daft without it
