Does any have a adult Sao Fran

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im gonna guess a lot of the kelberi we see these days are from asia.
Multiple collection points thrown in a pond and so on.
I have no problem w/ this....just the mislabeling that is ever so common these days.

The only problem I have is when vendors sell these fish under a mislabeled type of peacock bass for $175 at 3''. I lost faith in all these special collection point Kelberi ,Azuls and ridiculous hydrids. Just like this thread, a MFK member wants some pictures and reference of a Sao Fran Kelberi. Last year Sao Frans were Kel and Azul hybrids and this year they are Kelberi without spangles and bling. The Brokopondo Ocellarus is the only collection point fish I would spend major dollars on!! SMH:confused:

I understand the difference between the two types of fish. Does anyone on the forum have adult Sao Fran Kelberi pictures? I'm interested to see a photo because it can clarify the final growout look for the thread posters fish.

Then do a search nooob!
YOu guys think you can get stuff put right into your hands....do some ground work!
Read a little and quit assuming things.
These repeat threads that are made serve no purpose at all.
Scat has a thread w/ his old 24k. That is why there is a search button.

Well one of the problems is people are missing the facts that if I have a river which can be the Sao Fran river any kind of kel or fish that comes out of that river would be referred as Sao Fran correct don't matter how it looks and people over look that when they get the thought in there mind that it's a specific look they over look where did the fish get collected from you can go collect fish all day from the same collection point and get 10 different looks but they all are kelberi so what would say then oh no they can't be Sao Fran lol because one pic I have from 5-7 years ago don't look like the same fish lol

It is interesting how the hobby is... People definitely sell stuff as WC & it is not. But it seems like many people just simply like to deflate people's excitement about fish they have. This Sao Fran is an example where I believe Unungy did a great job documenting the fish he brought in... Not to say he couldn't be a world class BS'er but that is one i believe was WC... I have 2 of these fish & they look just like you already know's... They do not look like Scat's... But there's better and worse looking fish in every river in the world. It is a total crap shoot what you are gonna get. But if I can improve the chances of WC (& I have) then I am improving the possibility of us all getting exceptional fish... Scat's group seem to be absolute stunners & was obvious they were absolved the norm even when they were very little. Makes me look forward to the day some come along that are obviously exceptional like that!

Pump your brakes angry fish guy.Wanksta you always hating on everyones threads. You need to READ before type. You don't have a picture of an adult Sao Fran so your comments aren't needed. You act like you own MFK. The last time I checked your fish collection was basic . So when we are reaching out to get some information in regards to a rare fish, there is no need for you to comment:thumbup::D!!

I get what your saying and I just don't think exceptional bass are that easy to get a hold of......I mean how many other people had fish like the ones Scat had? Or like the Teles Pires Kel he had? The cichla that we idolized in the past were special for a reason....because not everyone had them and they weren't easy to come by. Your absolutely right it's a crap shoot and you never know what your gonna get, the best you can do is buy your bass from a vendor you trust and give the bass the best care you can.....and hope for the best. While I think you already know probably has the largest of these I think they still need more time to develop....
