If so I would love to see some pictures if you be so kind. Got one of these guys recently wanted to see what they look like grown.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

I had a few ~6"-7"-ers, total length, but no pics, sorry. They do not look as cute as the younger fish and also appear to lose a lot of their inquisitiveness. The colors and the contrast wears out.

IME, adult Pimelodus pictus cats are surprisingly less hardy than the younger guys. IDK how general this is (I hope people will either confirm or disprove), but IME I have had trouble with several of them I picked up from various LFSs through the years. They had difficulties acclimating, some did not make it while 3"-ers have shown no problems at all.

Let us know how you get on with your guy, please.

I may be wrong but I think this is an example of the danger of confusion when common names are used that are ambiguous (not all of them are but this one is). I think the OP means Pimelodus pictus (aka pictus catfish), not Pimelodus blochii (aka 4-line pim catfish) and other related species in this genus. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

My 4" Pimelodus Pictus cat.

So im down one flat head minnow, I can only guess who the culprit is..... He is growing quickly. Will try and get a picture he is very fast.
