does any one own a Eheim Professional 3 External Filter 2080?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have been using a 2028 for about six or seven years now and I have never had a problem with it. It is by far the most reliable filter that I have ever owned. I have two xp3's that I have to clean out almost monthly due to them losing output strength. The 2028 I clean out about every six months. I have never had to replace anything on it. I do have an extra seal just in case but so far I haven't needed to take it out of the package.

There may be bigger filters out there but in my mind none of them beat the reliability of an eheim.

Yea. I know.. I was doing some research on parts and wow they are pricey....I saw that the inlet outlet piece coast $40.00!!!! Holy toledo!!!

It's not cheap but you should never break it. In order to break that piece you would have to be very rough on the filter.

Howdy,

Eheims are the best filters out there, but go with their Classic line (22xx). They're cheapest and best. The pro 3 sucks. I have a 2080 and wouldn't recommend it beyond 75 gal. Search this forum for my user name and 2080 and you'll find more.

cool...thanks.!!!

I have had a 2028 for over 3 years and never had any problems just replaced the impeller every now and then

I have 3 2028's and a 2080 running on different tanks. Eheim are the best period in my opinion. This is with 25 years in the hobby!

I have an eheim 2227, and for the past four years it has worked great for me. I have it on my 125 with a magnum 350 and for what it is worth, the magnum seems to be a real work horse.

i've been using my 2028 for 5 years now and never had a problem...my 2080 has been running for 1+years now and i love it even more than my 2028

WOW! cool...I will be buying next tuesday..thanks for the info!!

i use a pro 3 2080 also, never a problem , if i ever get a problem then i am aware of the cost of spares , but thats the price of top quality aquarium water in high volume , and not to mention peace of mind ,
