I know allot of people on here are trying to make Bonsai fish.....

I do Bonsai with locally collected specimen.I just recently greatly downsized my collection.I used to have over 20.Aside from the two Juniper, these are all 7-10 years old.I currently have Cedar,Crabapple,Azalea, ficus,Juniper and maple.

I do mostly Atlas and slant but have also done trident and cascade amongst other styles.

dude if those fat ones were yours I would be on my way to rob your house, lol.Im going to post the bonsai forum site Im on.Hold up a sec.

Ha it'd be a long trip!! I've got a few nice fat ones, but we can't grow them outdoors here as its too cold and wet, so its hard to keep them as compact as the Thai ones. None of them are in a bonsai-style presentation either as I'm still trying to bulk them up a bit by giving them a free root run. I'm training one over a rock, which should be interesting...

Nice pics señor_pescados_felices, I like the cascade one and the one two below it!

Hey I cant keep New Zealand tea tree alive for crap.It needs water like every 30 minutes,I liked the look very much but researched after my purchase and turns out they are hard.I would love to go to new z but I have to say I would spit on the tea tree plant, lol.

S_P_F, did you really create all those from start to finish?! WOW!

I love the jin and shari (I hope I spelt it right) on the pine below the cascading dwarf juniper. The group planting of what looks like tri-dent maples is  !

It was raining when I got home so no pictures. I really cant decide what I want to do with tree, maybe I post some pictures for you and you can give me some tips!

Yes I started these as sapling or branch except for the two Juniper,Those two my father started. The most important thing to a long lived and healthy Bonsai IMO is annual replanting and trimming of the root. The pic you refer to is actually also a Juniper, it is 14 years old.The Cascade Juniper was a branch, the other a sapling. The Cascade Juniper is 12, all others are between 7-10.I will most likely not start another Bonsai after these are gone.

Haha my GF's parents have a whole hillside covered in it!! It is a pretty wet clay hillside though. I've never heard of using it as a bosai subject, it does make good firewood though, and is the best wood for smoking fish!
