Posted it in that thread, thank you!

Would the Thera-A 6mm be similar to the new 10mm? I'd like to try a small batch before buying a 4lb's worth. I've never fed NLS before, only hikari.

Thera-A is a little garlicy for constant use IMO. But it is great for getting new fish to eat and ridding them of parasites. I just don't like my aquarium smelling like garlic between WCs.

Not exactly. The 6mm is more of a round pellet shape, and more importantly it has a MEGA dose of garlic in it. The 10mm is also sold in a 485g container, but it may be a while before you find vendors with that size in stock.

April beat me to the punch. :)

A lot of people feed the TherA formulas exclusively, others find the garlic in that formula to be a bit overwhelming. All NLS formulas contain garlic, but the TherA formulas contain a mega dose.

Sorry Neil I should have let the expert on the product answer. I love NLS I was completely skeptical when I first tried it on my reef systems 7 years ago but now I feed it to anything that will eat it. I admit I don't feed it exclusively like Pablo suggest but it is a big part of most of my fishes diet.

No worries, April. I understand that the potent aroma of garlic is a very real concern for some hobbyists, so I understand completely if some people find the odour of the TherA to be offensive. IMO there is no need to feed a mega garlic enhanced formula on a regular basis to a ray.

The motoro shown below was purchased from a local chain store a couple of yrs ago where it was being nutrient starved, to the point where it was becoming stunted. The overall tank setting & water quality were both less than ideal, and it wasn't being fed nearly enough food. (at least not on a consistent basis)
Personally I was beginning to think that this fish was past the point of no return.

After being removed from that tank, and fed NLS H20 wafers as the main staple, in less than 6 months it went from an undernourished skinny 6" specimen, to a fat & sassy 10-11" fish. A fellow MFK'er then bought this ray, and kept it on an exclusive diet of NLS. (wafers & 3mm pellets)

Unfortunately that fish died the following year due to an equipment malfunction, but it will live on as one of the fish featured on the label of the new NLS 10mm Mega Fish formula. :stingray:

Sweet!

got my sample of the new 10mm nls in the other day. My rays will mess with it but are not crazy about it.. However my tig LOVES them. These pellets are HUGE. My rays would probably eat it after a while, but not yet.

looking forward to hearing your progress on it... keep us up todate.

I am also interested as a future keeper. I plan to have a string ray pond with some geos perhaps once I move into my next place with a large basement. Until then, I will just look and drool....

Ordered a bucket today. The way my fish pound the food when it hits the tank, I'm not too worried. Will report back once I get my shipment.

So far my leo will eat it but they are too big for him at 8-10".. It takes him a while to crunch them up... BUt they rest of my rays will not eat it.. I will starve them a day or 2 then try again.
