As for myself the fish so far that have tolerated my touch are my Gulpers, Stingray, Trachycorystes(though I've been bit and stabbed by them on many occasions) and my Flowerhorn. Though I will admit none really like it, just tolerate it except maybe the ray.

Someday, I wanna see someone petting the head of a alligator snapping turtle... someday...

I can pet my arowana, Drogo. He only really tolerates it if he's about to get fed and wants something from me. If he's fat and happy, he swims to the bottom to avoid me. The bugger knows that he has to put up with my shenanigans to get what he wants sometimes. :lol2:

I've succeeded in touching my GATF at times, but that makes me nervous. When he was little and I was in the tank, I could move him by hand if I had to. Since he's started getting bigger though, he's getting frighteningly confident and has begun to challenge me. Recently I was trying to shoo him away from some rocks that I was trying to place that he insisted on being near, but he wouldn't move. So, I gently brushed him to the side. He proceeded to turn back to me and fin up and display at my hand quite aggressively.

I let him stay near the rocks.

lmfao " I let him stay near the rocks"

I used to have a Giant Gourami that I swear acted like a dog when I walked in the fish room. I would scratch him on the head and it looked like he was wagging his tail. If my dad walked in the fishroom he would go an hide behind rocks. As soon as my dad left he would rush out to me for more attention. I loved that fish

It is amazing how fish can build a bond with their humans, I keep African cichlids and my Moba Fronts and Tropheus are by far my favorite. I will never forget the time I was cleaning the glass to the Tropheus tank and they grabbed the scrubby from my hand and then proceeded to play keep away. I can only imagine what it looked like with me trying to catch them. It must have been fun for them because they still try to get it. But I have thumbs and know to really hang onto it now.

The tamest fish I ever had were saltwater fish I kept in my Reef tank. My hands were in the tank so often they got used to it. I could literally grab a Unicorn Tang and hold him. Almost all times my hands were in the tank they would swarm around between my hand and my view. I would have to keep pushing them back so I could see what I was doing.
