Has anyone seen that they have put some of the great music legends like Kurt Cobain on Band Hero??

Does anyone else find this sick! ? !

Personally I find this disgusting!
 
They would have had to get permission from his estate. I know many Audiophiles just find Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Band Hero objectionable on principle. The Idea the Courtney love is still making money off him bothers me but not his music or likeness being used.

Also being featured in a video game is like radio play back when I was a kid. Most band would kill for that.
 
Its not just that his likeness is being used - but what buggs me about it is the idea of his "character" getting unlocked and singing some bon jovi or britney spears.

And that the fact that his wife authorized this I find just shows how much she truly thinks of her late husband.

I think the great legends of music - those who have inspired so many, deserve a certain level of respect.

Does anyone else think it's sick that Kurt Cobain got credited for the grunge-era, when he was making sub-par grunge music at best?

I mean, come on....It's not like he started something new.


Let's see.....a grody-looking white guy from seattle tuning his guitar down, doing lots of drugs, and pissed at the world. Yea, you're original.
 
Kurt Cobain was at the right place at the right time. Most of the studio albums were overdone. He couldn't sing a lick live. His biggest claim to fame was killing himself. I don't consider him a legend at all. Nirvana made some good music. The Foo Fighters did too ... after Kurt was gone. I liked Nirvana, don't get me wrong. But Kurt's musical prowess is highly over rated. Guitar Hero/Rock Band/Band Hero are the ultimate in tribute to musicians. People listen to it over and over. I think it is something they give to the fans and I for one can't get enough. I don't find it sick that he is on there. It's an honor to be singled out to be a character in these games.
 
To start off I hate Nirvana - the music bothers me...a lot.

That being said - they were the band that propelled grundge into a mainstream genre - they may not have been the first to do it, but somehow they were the most popular at it.

I read about the likeness being used - and interviews from people who approved it in the game seem to state that everyone thought he would only be a cameo for Nirvana songs, not an unlockable character to play around with.

I think it's offensive that a persons likeness is being used for profit - when they are dead.

Fame or not - what made Kurt famous was his own suicide, but all in all he was just another heroin junky and it should not be as surprising as it was to people.
