Does anyone else find this sick?

too me it is a great disrespect that he is being used as a character in that game. anyone thats a fan of him and his music knows that he would never associate himself with such cheesyness. he in fact shunned popularity, he hated it and he hated that his music got "catchy". that was in part of what lead to his so-called "suicide" the man was just blessed with the ability to really transcend his pain thru his voice. too me the notion that courtney ok'd such a thing somewhat shows her guiltiness in his death.for me its in the same light as having johnny cash dancing around singing backstreet boys you know he would never do that.

No worse than the Beatles schlock thats been everywhere lately. The fact that they're airing game footage as music videos is incredibly lame.

Its not just that his likeness is being used - but what buggs me about it is the idea of his "character" getting unlocked and singing some bon jovi or britney spears.

And that the fact that his wife authorized this I find just shows how much she truly thinks of her late husband.

I think the great legends of music - those who have inspired so many, deserve a certain level of respect.
I get what you mean... on one edition of guitar hero ( idk which ine) you can use Jimi Hendrix... although playing guitar is a bit more universal.

To me, it is not whether or not an individual finds Kurt himself a legend - but there are others that they are using who are undoubtly legends. Kurt is just a good example. I personally do think he is a legend - and what one person said above - an individual who never wanted to "make it big" in that sense - was against the over popularity that his band got to.

It is the principle of dead legends being used in a game that allows people to unlock their characters and then use them to sing Britney Spear or the Back Street Boys. Its just not right.

I find less of an insult if you can use thier characters to play THEIR music - fine, I can somewhat see how that can be seen as a tribute. But to be able to undoubtly abuse their characters is just plain rude.

This is even why living people who have ok'd the idea of being used are suing the game makers for making it possible for them to be singing other people's music.

Many of these "legends" themselves would most likely either have said a flat out no, or found the same problem in being used to play other people's music.

Obviously, this is my point of view only...

I would never say Kurt Cobain is a legend.
.

It's hard... they are dead... we can't know if they'd have wanted it or not. Their next of kin and producers etc. are exploiting it. At the end of the day people are going to want to play as their favourite artists... no matter what the song. It's hardly an insult imo. Just shows people still remember them.
