Does anyone else flex at their alpha fish during water changes?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I used to have this big flowerhorn named bruce. He was the alpha and not that aggressive but will show his true power when tested. The other flowerhorn and midas in my community tank would try to bite my fingers but he would surround himself around my hands and throw off any predators. One time I got bite by the second alpha you can call it and the alpha beat him and came back to me. Man I loved that fish so much. He would want me to pet him every time I'm doing maintenance on the tank.

Now I get a pvc pipe in one hand which doing gravel vac in another for protection lol

When I had large channa I had to or I'd get bit

This may sound childish.. But for some really big predatory fish this probably isn't a bad idea.. I know my fahaka fears me enough to leave me alone when the hand goes in the tank... And snakehead this is even more important lol

I terrorize my pink tail with my hand or the net so i can get some food down to my African knives while he hides on the other end of the tank. A good thing too since when he gets big he wont use those chompers of his on me :)

I had to scare my orange hump geo a few times he decided My cory cats looked enough like him to warrant punishment....

Ihsnsheik, that is awesome. Most of my big fish could care less when I'm doing work, which I am grateful for, but it's the little tough guys that crack me up. Nice to have protection when your in there. That must have been pretty funny.

...Anybody else, or am I the new weirdest guy on MFK? (Nobody is going to admit this.)

You're not the weirdest. But you are consistent, between your avatar and all ;)

Like your writing style. It's funny. Safe to shower haha :)

Lmao guys. My betta is a little sissy when a finger enters the tank but when i dip the very tip in he tries to eat it. My brothers Danios are even worse, all 9 are like little piranhas that ravage anything that enters a tank including :
-Food
-Plants
-Arms
-Driftwood
-Fingers
-Algae scrubbers
-Just about anything
