I have one of those sinks in my bathroom that are basically a glass bowl that sits on a platform with the cabinet and plumbing underneath, vessel sink I think it is called..I installed it myself and all seems fine except when the the sink is filled with water and then drained the water seems to empty out at a very slow rate...annoyingly slow. Its quite possible that I could have the plumbing wrong as I am no plumber but just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

checked the P-trap? may need cleaning.

also the stopper may be collected with hair if its a lever type that works off the top of the spigot. drains just a drain, nothing special there. if that aint it i would look further down the line.

Not sure,it's been this way since it was installed about two years ago. Now,when I abruptly yank the stopper out the water empties like a toilet flushing but otherwise the water trickles down.....oh yeah, the sink only has a grate type of drain so the stopper is just one of those rubber disk types that I bought from the hardware store.

P-trap, pull the p-trap and clean it out, sounds like it has gravel or sand in the bottom of it.

Gravel or sand?....not in the upstairs bathroom, hair maybe, but I'll check it out.

that would be the first thing i would do, slow drains are almost always build up in the p-trap. I have been a home owner for years with kids, be surprised what you find in them, let alone whats stuck in the toilet.

Now what's the toilet got to do with this?...and thanks for your help by the way.

Do you mean like this?

Almost bought a used house that had a half bath with one of these.

They should behave the same. They look as a normal sink looks except not sunk into the counter

Yes Borg and mine is even dark colored like that one...I agree they should work the same as a regular sink.I'm thinking I might not have the p trap or some other part if the plumbing not properly installed which might be affecting the flow rate.I will have to check the trap though.
