Does anyone go out scouting with a metal detector?

fantastic ..thank you...going to the nearest hard ware store in the morning..

make sure its strong.sometimes ya gotta dig deep and in hard ground.
my detector came with a plastic shovel,junk.
also wooden handles can break sometimes.
all metal will be the best,metal shovel with wooden handle 2nd.

another tip
get a lil backpack.
no need to carry tools and water and stuff around.
put ziplocks in the bp for his findings.

places to look
crowded places and parks and such - find lost coins and jewelry
beaches,coins and jewelry
around old buildings,all kinds of stuff you can find
also search your location on google for battlegrounds or old western trails

I have a metal detector,had dreams of striking it rich,finding the elusive pot of gold....never did,but i did find about 30 pence in 2 pence pieces scattered on a beach , got bored and never went again
Anyway RD,you can get beach scoops for raking through sand or small shovels for other digging,hope that helps a little

you did fine..and always interested in hearing any and all comments,, i can amagine it would get boring if u did not find some interesting things but you also need patience and some extra time..

why woukd you think that..someone else would find it eventually or it would be lost forever.. and i think it is work looking for the treasure ...
