What im looking at is a concrete indoor pond say 300 or larger that flows outside through a wall of the house and into a large yard pond? Anyone ever attempted this? Is 3 ft deep adequate. Can filtration all be done in the yard pond if there is enough flow in and out? Any down side or risks?

What is your plan to keep the undesirables out, such as snakes, frogs, toads, insects, or anything else that can swim or fly into the hole in your house?

I saw something like this on an episode of Fishtank Kings and it was saltwater.

Hmm. Some gars would keep some stuff out prolly. Or an hungry hungry hippo.

Well my thought was the indoor portion be a sit up area like a bar not necessarily open but covered with an acryilic to look down into it. Like bar of granite transitioned to acrylic over the indoor portion of the pond. As far as critters. Would something like a jardini or some of the monster cats not keep it free of most things.

Im so lost on what this could possibly look like. Are you thinking a pond/tank like arapimag's 50k? Like knockout a basement wall and make it glass so you can see your outdoor pond from inside? Seen a few cool setups kinda like this but most are in like Malaysia and Indonesia iirc. Time to go youtube hunting see if j can dig up what I think u are thinking about

Ok this is what I see in my mind you're sitting at a granite bar. Set your drink on it. The surface you set it down on extends say 4 additional foot in acrylic in front of you and say 8 foot in length 4 to the left or right. This slab of acrylic is over a pond you're looking down into. The front of the bar say lap height could also be an acrylic panel to view in. So you have 4 wide 4 deep x 8 pond inside. Connected through the wall to an exterior pond. Like a 4 foot deep koi pond of large size maybe 20x20x 4 depth with pond filtration and pumps to return water inside.
