I got 2 jd's and 2 green terrors that were sold as babies as a set of 4 blue acaras! became clear they weren't but bizarrely they jd's were easily my most timid and boring fish and although they reached about 8" and were beautifully colourful I woke up one morning to find one floating on the surface untouched and then 2months later the same happened to the other one. the green terrors got taken back very quickly!
MyJD is also very timid and hides 90 percent of the time I was wondering why is this usual for them ??

My JDs have always been very social and confident until I start messing with their tank, moving stuff around or taking their fry away from them. 
They must have memories like elephants. These days they start getting weird a day or two before I take their fry out at about 1-2 weeks. It takes them months to settle down after they get spooked like that.
