does anyone here keep muskie

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a home in Kingston Ontario. Ya there are alot of reports of them netting Muskie that are out of this world. I have seen some break the top that scare the Sht out of me. There are so many hidden lakes up there that have never been touched. We go to some of them way back in and have caught muskie that would eat a small child. The local fg has told us of some muskie well over 65 that they have netted. I like to experience that once!

my bad, neoprodigy doesnt have musky, he has pike

I wouldn't buy one from the store but it's illegal to keep any under 40 inch here in some lakes. They are hard to catch too...
theyre not called"the fish of a 1000 casts"for nothing.i do alot of muskie fishing.but practice something called CPR.catch, photo, release:)

Tiger Muskie would be one of my dream fish's to keep ... but Id need a lake eventually .
I hear they grow extremely fast!
the thing about tigers, theyre a hybrid,so they can`t reproduce.also, while they grow pretty quickly, they don`t get the size of the purestrains

Tigers can get to 50"++ like pure strains but tend to act a bit more like pike in some ways (colder water, spawn earlier -- yes even though they are a hybrid they still try to reproduce) and pure strains in others (will still chase the lure back to the boat and hit on a figure 8, appearance beautiful stripe markings, nasty teeth and thickness). I can understand why many states have hybrid Tiger programs but personally I am fan of purity....
