Fish less cycle means no fish to cycle tank. I hope that helps. It can take weeks to months for the tank to be cycled with or without fish to help. Best thing is using old filter media to cycle tank. That can take a few minutes.

^ agreed. If you don't have an established tank to pull some media out of here is another route: most LFS use sponge filters to run their tanks. Ask them to wring out a sponge into a bag. A lot of bacteria will be present in the bag and you can dump it straight in the tank. This is the method I use.

That ammonia should be fine to use as well. You just want to avoid the types with perfumes

I do have a big 40 gallon sump with alot of media. I was just asking because I'm planning on moving all my media from my old tank to my new 600 gallon tank....

With established media you should quite quickly. If you are doing a direct upgrade the old media would still be sufficient unless you added more fish. If your just using a bit of old media to seed new stuff that ammonia should be spot on.

There ya go, perfect. Just rinse out the media in the tank/container you're fishless cycling. It will be just as good as wringing out a sponge. Bacteria is bacteria and not picky where it comes from. I'm doing this very thing for my 600 gallon tank as well.

With pure ammonia you want to start adding small amounts and you can increase as you get more bacteria. Keep an eye on your levels. I once saw a store employee pour a whole bottle in a saltwater system, plus throw in dead shrimp. They called me in to "fix it" and it took many water changes to bring the nitrate down!

Why not just get a group of cheap gold fish or other cheap fish and throw it in there ? IF you can invest in big tank and expensive fish, i dont see any issue with getting cheap fish and help you speed up the cycle.

I am not a big fan of adding chemical to speed up the process, I like to keep it as natural as possible for the benefit for the fish you're getting.

The rest of the suggestion above post had mentioned it,
