Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know what fish is this one? Te pictures are bad but if you see the fish has a pink color under the gills and a big mouth, not as big as the Parachromis managuensis but big.
This is the female I think:

It is a Mayan cichlid. Species name is urophthalmus. They are also called False Red Terror's because of their resemblance to female red terrors. They are also extremely hardy fish. I have seen them live in brackish water along side true saltwater fish.

Yes they look like Uropthalmus to me also. Some fish farmers call uropthalmus 'Red Terror' on their order forms. This is why you constantly see Uropthalmus in the LFS sold as Red Terror. It isn't always the LFS fault. As far as I'm concerned the name Red Terror should never be used because it could refer to either of two entirely different species.

Guys, you are fast. The english is not my first language that is why I took so long to suggest you the same thing. "exCichlasoma urophthalmus - mayan cichlid"

Mine are a little shy. I don't think they should be called even "false" red terror. The farm where I bought had them in the same tank with buttikoferies wich are pretty agressive and african.
Do you know what is it largest size by the way?

that cool!, they must be a vary primitive cichlid and retain the proper kidneys to drink salt water.

Yep looks like Mayan's to me also. I have a juvie right now in a 90g with a juvie dovii and texas as well. I had a mayan some years ago that was very mean and territorial. He kill list consists of a JD, RD, Oscar, a pleco, and a GT. Man do I miss that fish.

I'm pretty sure 12" is max for males and females a little smaller, maybe 10"
