This is 8'x close to 4'x2', 480 gal, and perhaps it could house an even bigger catfish that's sedentary and not long-barbelled but I agree it would be borderline (in)adequate.

With pictus and other Leiarius, you don't want them to be able to touch front and back wall with their super long maxillary barbels simultaneously. That will make them feel trapped and nervous and skittish and prone to darting and injuring themselves. But you likely know it already.

Yeah i did know that and hopefully it will work with this fish in my tank. Im really hoping for that since this is one of my favorite mediumsized catfish. And here in sweden its a hard family to come across. I have seen marmoratus on the lists two times in ten years and never L.pictus at all. If it wont i have friend thats got a tank with a big size 405x215x120cm
