does anyone know where i can get these elements and compounds?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the KClO3 would work, but i want pure magnesium... i think ill ask my chem teacher where he gets his.

Some older car parts are made from magnesium. Thats the stuff that will burn underwater right? Been awhile since I was in chemist mode.

mind if I ask what you want to make magnesium oxide for?

magnesium ribbons are pure magnesium right?
or was it magnesium oxide...but magnesium oxide doesnt burn does it...
and magnesium ribbons do...
eh im confused.

anyways, why not just get em from your chem lab.

burning magnesium creates magnesium oxide. when magnesium is burned, its very bright. i just thought id do something exciting at the next family event.

and for anyone who wants to know why i want potassium chloride, its for another bright chemical reaction. if KClO3 is melted, and sugar is added in the convenient form of a gummi bear, smoke and lots of purple sparks will appear. very cool to watch.
