Does anyone not run a heater?

i have my 175 in the garage. i also live in fresno ca, so it gets real hot.

my garage temps go up to about 90 degrees, and my tank temps go up to about 88 degress.

with that being so, i have heaters in them all year round. they auto shut off if the water temps reach their set temp. that means they dont turn on in the summer.

more power to you if you dont run them. my fish do not show any sign of stress. they are actually really active.

I have my heater in my tank set at my desired level, but it doesn't turn on unless it drops below that. I feel it's better to have it in there incase something happens, then to not and wish you did.

I do live in Texas though, so I don't think it kicks on very much..

Day temp goes to 82F and low temp at night is 78F so no worries in summer

I took out all my heaters . . . we live in south Florida, so it's more trouble keeping the tanks cool than it ever is to heat them
