Does anyone use vitachem? I was wondering if its a good product to pre soak food in such as krill, shrimp, etc? I have a Lima Catfish that's been acting odd lately Im hoping to add some nutrition to his diet, he only eats krill and shrimp at the moment.

To give some more info on my catfish to see if I should be concerned?? He's been shedding his slime coat alot more than normal and has been shaking his head in a thrashing motion. He seems unable to sit still and is always jerking and shaking his head. Almost like hes trying to regurgitate something.

Water: 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 20 Nitrate PH 8 Temp 81

I've used vitachem before. IM sure it's good to use but my fish eat so much I didn't want to buy it anymore. I had a Lima years ago that would constantly shed its slime coat. The only thing I can peg the jerking head movement on is that it's trying to get rid of that excess slime off its head. Hopefully you get some more answers but that's all my experiences on the subject

yeah thanks. I might be figuring it out. My silver dollars are now scratching them selves on the driftwood and one looks like it has a light dusting on it. It doesn't look like ich, I'm thinking it looks more like Velvet. I'm going to use some API general cure and see if that helps. Id post a picture but its so light that is doesn't show up on the pictures. if it is ich and not velvet will general cure kill ich too

I soak shrimp in it from time to time but I've gotten more into stuffing the shrimp with good quality pellets.

yeah when my fish get big enough that's the plan to hide pellets in the food :) As far as treating the tank for velvet, My LFS said to not use general cure but to use algaefix. Seems odd but he was really confident. Has anyone ever used algaefix to treat velvet? Hope it works :)
