Does anyones fish keeping hoby get them in trouble

well for me there are those that tried to give me the gears about my hobby to which being the abraisive in your face person i am i dont do political correctness so needless to say after the first time there is not a second time

what gets me is people who state their opinion without asking why

for example people got on me cause i went on a massive tank buying spree now that i have 8 tanks totally 800g with 7 more coming totalling 500g making a total of 1200g in my restaurant its a good thing that looks fantastic MAKES ME JUST WANNA DENUT THEM

not to mention that i have amassed thousands of dollars in tanks for a fraction of the price

even further here in regina there is a huge lack of good quality different fish so im turning my entire basement into a fish room with the ulterior motive of producing fish for sale as well we are building a garage/fish room beside our house on our vacant lot and people think im nuts makes me wanna kick them in theirs

yeh my "fish obsession" gets me in trouble but hey lets not talk about the one species i have bleekeri who is goin extinct etc etc etc.....

I SAY THIS TO THE SMACTARDS SILENCE lest though eat crow after all since we are the ones who are keeping the tanks let them shut up

You should have heard the screams when the wife came home and discovered that I'd installed a six foot tank in the front room, that a friend gave me as he was moving overseas.

My dad was never too pleased that I had sooo many tanks (3) now that I have my own place I have 30+ tanks. I had so much light and humidity on the window that last winter the cops came to see if I had a grow op in my basment.

No my fish keeping keeps me out of trouble. And as a bonus my wife enjoys it as well. She keeps asking what are we going to put in the empty 55g.

now the only problem ive ever had with my wife is this i truly at times hate my iri sharks ive rehomed as they are so skittish they drive me nuts one time i was doin wc on the 180 and the biggest speared me in the wrist by torpedoing from the one side to the side where my hand was i honestly thought he broke something another time i was doin a wc when i had them in a 100g at my house and the bugger launched himself 3 feet out the top of the tank to land in my wc sink my wife ran down so worried that something was very wrong cause of how much i was screaming at this fish then i put him back in and he honestly looked me smirked an swam away

now my wife has finally got her wish i made sure that they got a tank all their own a 140g custom tank i just set up here

now the funny thing is she is almost as anxious to see the tanks grow as i am we just answered a add for a 150g and when the dude came to get the deposit from me he looked at my 180g and tells me his tank is 2 feet longer an same width an height and if im correct i just managed to get a 240g for 500 bucks all my wife said is sweeet

we even put a 55g against gaddiellas crib so that she would not have to suffer the agony of the fake fisher price toy aquarium

So whenever a friend or a relative brings up how obsessed I am with my fish tanks

Ive just bought myself a 17 inch florida gar,even though my other half loves our discus and plecs and cories,she doesnt share the same enthusiasm for my predators,when she saw the gar she said,could have put that towards a dishwasher! So i said that wont look good in the tank,it wont float never mind swim! Lol!
She didnt see the funny side!

My girlfriend hates the tank too along with everything else that takes my attention off of her. The rest of my friends just try to not look bored when I'm babbling on about it... thank sweet Jesus for ]v[FK!!!

I started with a 10gallon turtle tank lol... Now look at me I have over 565gallons worth of tanks.

I finally managed to convince my parents to let me have a 120 gallon for my reef... and they even said i could keep my 55 gallon (usually when i get a new tank i gotta sell the old one or toss it) now, lets see how long that promise lasts...

I still live my parents and we argue over fish.
I have a 55g tropical community, 65g goldfish, and a 10g quarantine/growout and live at home. I had to fight for 6 months to get my 55g, though there was no fight for the later 65g - probably because my mom liked my goldfish and got to choose her "favorites".

She always complains about the water and electricity bills. I pointed out that if she called the plumbing guy to fix the leaking hot water tank, she would save 10g/day of water. As for electricity, I showed her this thread (http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=18594) and commented the 65g is goldfish and doesn't even have a heater, she was quiet for 2-3 months, called me a smart @ss and now I get to pay our $120 electricity bill (now if my brother would stop running two computers, tv, music, lights all at same time, it would drop...)
The plumber later came and commented her water humidifier was broken, she replied, I have 3 fish tanks in my house, I don't need it - noone in our house has chapped lips in winter.
People call crazy for the 55g (and I didn't even tell them about my 65g yet!).

Many of you guys complain about wives/girlfriends not liking fish, I have the opposite problem, I can't find a guy who would even put up with a 55g tank!

But I love my fish (when I say that, most people where I live think rod and hook...)

I am still wondering how to sneak that 20g in... I had better get permission or heads could fly...
I like many of those drug/drunk excuses - hey, I don't do drugs, drink, smoke, or any other illegal activities I have to have at least one vice!
