does interbreeding fish cause problems? i know with rabbits and things like that they get deformatives. so i was wondering is that the same with fish?
or is it with certain fish? thanks for the time here. Troy

this is in the air breeders have many different opinions on this topic some believe in interbreeding for a solid bloodline others don't because of deformities

im sure most fish a major stores are inbred. thats why they are as bad quality as they are. i wil never buy guppies from a big chain store.

Not all inbred fish are bad, look at Xiphophorus Center, their stock were highly inbred for many generations and they never have any problems. And some goodeids were highly inbred but still strong since some species of goodeid were extinct in the wild but common in the aquarium.

but yes some inbred fish were deformed such as balloon type fish, parrot-like fish etc.

there are so many balloon fish that were just deformed once and now are sought after by some enough to keep inbreeding.

angel rams
balloon mollies
and i even saw ballon red eye tetras once.
