Sorry. I didn't see this one until now. I have heard the same thing and have even seen a Flowerhorn with $ signs as well as one that spelled "fortune" in Chinese. I don't read Chinese, but I don't necessarily see any characters in your fish.
For what it's worth, I see some unyielded potential in this fish that is possibly being supressed by its environment. I would definitely get rid of that background. If you don't see any color change within a week, I would consider reversing the color of the gravel and maybe even replacing the light bulbs. This all depends on how much you want to put into your fish.

I gave you an answer. It's no. Sorry if it's not what you want to hear. Just because it doesn't say anything doesn't mean it's a bad fish. Try getting it into a better invironment like others said and it will look nicer.
