Does it look at a stage where its treatable/non fatal?

We got it from the LFS today but didnt notice until we got back. Will he live for a worthwhile amount of time in any opinions?

I have good filtration on the tank and do regular changes we have also ordered some treatment for it.

What is your nitrate reading when using a liquid test? If you don't have a liquid test, I would get one like the API nitrate test.

HITH generally happens due to poor water quality. If you don't have 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, more than 0.25ppm nitrate then medication will not help in the long run.

Ill do a quick test now.
The petshop said they have had him for 3 weeks before I got him today, no idea on their water quality I didnt test when I got him.
