This is my own opinion but i hate it when some rich kid/guy, goes out, buys the biggest tank, all the latest equipment and some of the most expensive rare fish just to put it all together, leave it and everything dies! Just because they have money and know NOTHING about fish what so ever! I suppose you need to buy them to find out how to care for them or atleast a little research before buying. Does this annoy anyone else or anyone else have any different opinions?

it is annoying especially when they brag about being able to afford these expensive tanks and fish, but my much cheaper fish are much healthier and actually treated well.
 
I think there should be a number of different liscences to be able to keep different kinds of fish, it would be alot more comfussing most likely but i think it would most defiantly save alot of rare fish from being mistreated!
 
Only thing good that comes of it is we can usually pick up a nice set up for a cheap price when they decide it's not for them afterall.

That's how I got my 6 month old set up.
 
Yeah, I got my 120 that way. I got a 70 gallon with a Ehiem Pro II for nothing. They just wanted it out of the house.
 
My stepsons dad bought an 230 g as his first tank. SW with 100kg live rock.
(Maybe he wanted to impress me, I dont know and I dont care.) Now its been several months and he still dont got any fish (or lights!).
Everytime he comes over and he comments about my small 90g I asks " and how is your fish doing?" :ROFL: :headbang2:owned:
