Does this look normal (FX5)?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm studying the pictures to see how on earth you got the areation going. Yes, I love that and I tried different ways to make mine do that. My husband even drilled a hole in the outlet nozzle thinking it would suck air through there and create bubbles. I love how the bubbles look but hate airstones. Yes, the flow does look a heck of a lot stronger than your 1st pic lol

... where the hose and the nozzle meet, I put the OD of the air line with the nozzle and put both into the hose... no flow is interupted because the flow is going down thru the hose... I just put the airline in the back of the connecting pcs:D

No drilling, cutting, tearing... Just sli[p in in with the nozzle

Post some pics when u do... I want to see if you do anything diff:)
Im thinking of trying it with just one outlet... just to see how it looks

Here you go West1! I done a quick water change before i hit the beer!just to show you how the output/flow should be.Hope it helps,my camera kinda sucks. This fx5 is on my 6x2x2 tank.

All i run for media is Biomax in all three trays, have cut the hosing as SHORT as possible,I have also removed the movable output nozzles,i regulary clean the hosing and impeller aswell.:)

This particular fx5 has been running strong like this, since i first bought it,when the fx5 first came onto the market many years ago! I have never had ANYPROBLEMS with my fx5's,They are great filters when setup right! I now own four of them aswell as eheims,BUT I LOVE THE FX5'S!!!
