Does this mix sound okay?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
syno eruptus is from lake malawi (i Think)so pure freshwater is what they need. they are capable of looking after themselves very well.

Synos will be fine, they're tough little guys. I dunno about the pims, unless they're a larger species like 4-lines.

I had the spotted kinds. One was about 7 inches, then it died. I left for vacation and my "kind" neighbor overfed him. :( I don't think they can eat a 7" cat, especially if there's five in the tank. What do you think?

Still want to know how may of each fish I should put in.

That depends...How big is the tank? At least the retic rays don't get that big....Yeah, big spotted pims should be ok.

180 gallons. {might get pond for these guys if they get too big} :naughty: (doubt they will):D

Thinking of getting

1- SA lung
1- retic ray
1- black ghost knife
1- fire eel
3- spotted gar
5- spotted pictus
1-8- syno eruptus
:headbang2
(might even add some serpae tetras before these guys (that way the tetras live) so I'll have some color in the tank) just another

What do you think?
What should I take out?
What should I add?
#'s of each fish sound good?
How many syno's would be ideal?

Thanks!

Sounds like an awesome mix...Synos are territorial, I'd go with three. Most of your fish are bottom dwellers though, you might want some mid-water fish like silver dollars.

I'll take your advice and get synos. Are there silver dollars with alot of color? Spots etc...

Sorry I don't know to much about some of these fish, I have mostly large oddballs and SA/CA cichlids.

Large redhook silver dollar, especially the "luna" type, have orange spots. Just don't get anything that "picks" or nips at other fish, lungs and stingrays are particularly vulnerable.
