I recently got a 180 and a stand from Craigslist. The tank I believe was made in 2000 and can only assume the stand was made around that time too. Maybe earlier, some of the other equipment have dates on it in the late 90's. After furhter inspection when it was moved over to my place it seems to have cut-out edges for it to sit on. Not sure how else to say it. Just wondering if this sounds and looks right? Also it seems to be held on by staples on the support beams.....just look and tell me what you think. I've never had a stand like this, so not sure.

The second picture I was trying to take a pic of the staples.

I had the same stand , the thing that worried me was the brace in the midddle. It looked to be 2mm plywood that could be bent using your pinky ! I sold mine (let somebody else deal with it) and used the money to make my own.....that way i knew it was safe and new :-)

Looks solid too me. Try standing on it with a friend, if it wiggles it aint solid. Ive seen some pretty hillbilly stands before but ud be suprised as the worst can sometimes be the most solid.

I would add nails/screws to it and reenforce with some 2*4's

I agree. It looks OK to me but if you're not comfortable just screw some extra 2x4's in for bracing where you're concerned.

In response to this and your other completely unproductive comment in another thread - it is in fact useful to the OP if several members echo the same opinion; much more useful say than trolling the people trying to be helpful.
